Association News

Tony’s final quiz night was held last Friday and, as always, was a fun-filled evening. Those not up to speed with the World Cup team were heavily penalised but one table, incredibly, managed to get all 23 players!

The winners were Spike Fairhurst’s team the “Baht’at”  (as in the famous Ilkley Moor song). The losers would rather not be named!

We’re going to really miss Tony and would like to thank him for his mega hard work in preparing the quizzes over the past few years.

There has been much activity in the Village Hall over the past few weeks with several members of the Silchester Association joining a working party last weekend to help with painting both inside and out.  The Village Hall Committee have done a sterling job with the renovations and the hall is now a great venue for events. The Association is pleased to have been able to offer some financial support as well and all who have seen it agree that it is a big asset to the village.
