Walk the Fun Run Course - Easter Monday 5th April
Before the run (see below) we always need to check the course, and traditionally we do this on Easter Monday. This year that falls on 5th April, and so if you would like a little exercise in good company, followed by a well earned drink at The Calleva, come and join us. We meet outside the pub at 10am sharp.
Silchester Fun Run 2010 - 15th May
The eagerly awaited Silchester Fun Run will take place on Saturday 15th May. There will as usual be two races which will start from the playing field opposite the Village Hall at 11am. The first race will be 2 miles long for children, children running with parents, and fun runners of all ages. Trophies will be awarded for the first three girls and first three boys aged 12 and under.
The second race will be 5 miles long for those 13 or over. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of 3 categories (Youths under 17, Adults, and Veterans aged 50 or over).
Additional prizes will be awarded just for residents of Silchester , i.e. strictly for those who live within the parish boundary, so come on you locals, you are in with a chance!
An application form is included in this issue of the Parish Magazine and subsequent issues will also include a form. Please make sure you tick the box on the form if you are a resident of Silchester, and also include an A5 format stamped addressed envelope with your application, with sufficient postage applied. Registration on the day from 9.30am at The Calleva Arms.
It’s not too early either to remind you that we are always delighted to receive the help of those who don’t do running but would like to be involved as marshals or to help in a variety of other ways.
